Players
Holbeton Players

Holbeton Players is a thriving drama group that presents several productions each year, usually in the village hall, but also in the local church and other venues.
The membership is mainly drawn from the parish, but members from other local villages are also very welcome.
The Players are very ambitious in their projects and their productions cover a wide range of drama and performance, from comedies, pantomimes, serious plays and concerts to Shakespeare in All Saints Church.
We present many shows that involve children and are always looking for new members to act, direct or help backstage.
If you are interested in joining us, want more information, or want to know where to buy tickets for any of our productions, please contact:

Twinning
Holbeton Twinning Association

We are twinned with Bodilis, Brittany.
Built on a sense of fun, a desire to travel, meet new people of all ages and experience a different culture.
No membership fee. Anyone within the Parish is welcome to join.
Speaking fluent French isn’t necessary; it can add to the fun.
Join in our fundraising to subsidise Holbeton School’s exchange visit and to entertain our French guests.

Garden Club
Holbeton Cottage Garden Society

The Society hosts all manner of events throughout the year, which have included Open gardens, a ‘Gardeners Question Time’, Workshops with Specialists and Plant Sales. We look after the Pet Memorial Garden in the village.
We contribute ‘Holbeton Herbie’, a regular article in Holbeton News, providing advice for gardeners and allotment holders.

We hold an annual show on the first Saturday in August in the village hall. Doors open at 2pm. It is open to anyone who lives in Holbeton Parish. Professional gardeners can only enter in the Open Classes. All exhibits must be produced by the exhibitor and the fruit flowers and vegetables must have been grown from plants or seeds which have been in their possession for at least two months (excluding Floral Art). There are special categories for children to enter. Trophies and Prizes are presented, and tea and cakes make it a great afternoon.
All information for prospective exhibitors is in the schedule.

These are available from the Village Store through July.

Lunch Club
Holbeton Lunch Club

Our club was established in 1998, to offer the opportunity for anyone over the age of 50 to enjoy lunch at the Village Hall, to catch up with friends and to get to know people new to the community. We encourage all our members to help with the lunch in some way, from cooking to putting the crockery away.
The atmosphere is friendly and lively and
meet on the 2nd of the month several time a year.
Our cooking teams aim to produce interesting meals.
We are always looking for volunteers to join in the cooking.
There is no need to be over 50 to cook or wash up once or twice a year!

The club was set up in 2014. We show films each month in Holbeton Village Hall.
You can always turn up on the door (doors open 7pm, programme starts at 7:30pm) and pay just £4 (£2 for under 12’s) for the screening.
We serve ice creams, tea, coffee & biscuits at very reasonable prices.
We don’t sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own.
We park cars so that everyone can get into the hall car park.
This means that you may be blocked in until the end of the film.
