Players
Holbeton Players

Holbeton Players is a thriving drama group that presents several productions each year, usually in the village hall, but also in the local church and other venues.
The membership is mainly drawn from the parish, but members from other local villages are also very welcome.
The Players are very ambitious in their projects and their productions cover a wide range of drama and performance, from comedies, pantomimes, serious plays and concerts to Shakespeare in All Saints Church.
We present many shows that involve children and are always looking for new members to act, direct or help backstage.
If you are interested in joining us, want more information, or want to know where to buy tickets for any of our productions, please contact:

Twinning
Holbeton Twinning Association

We are twinned with Bodilis, Brittany.
Built on a sense of fun, a desire to travel, meet new people of all ages and experience a different culture.
No membership fee. Anyone within the Parish is welcome to join.
Speaking fluent French isn’t necessary; it can add to the fun.
Join in our fundraising to subsidise Holbeton School’s exchange visit and to entertain our French guests.

Holbeton Community Orchard. We are very lucky to have our own Community Orchard which is open for anyone to enjoy all year around. Aswell as the apple trees there is a bbq area (which is mowed by a group of volunteers) for everyone to enjoy. It makes a very peaceful spot to spend an evening with friends. The Orchard can be accessed via the play park opposite the Village Hall, or for easier access via the entrance which is the first left after passing the Village Hall on your right.

The Orchard is maintained and managed by the Community Orchard Group who put on various apple related events through out the year including Holbeton Apple Day (October), Wassail, community pruning & picking. In the depths of winter, if you are brave enough, there is the Holbeton (Home Brew) Cider night in the Mildmay Colours.

Holbeton Garden Society

A small group from our local community come together to put on various garden related events throughout the year from plant sales to talks. The main event is the Annual Garden Show which has been running for nearly 100 years!! A little slice of Holbeton history. This is a traditional horticultural show where the community bring their best fruit, veg, cooking, flowers, crafts and creations to compete for trophies. The Village Hall is bursting with brilliant specimens. The question is – have you got what it takes claim the trophy for the longest cucumber? Here is the link to last year’s programme if you’re keen to get ahead of the competition! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uL-nAJ5YNTGKyD2Lu5K6fVDqVz9J47wO/view?usp=sharing

Lunch Club
Holbeton Lunch Club

Our club was established in 1998, to offer the opportunity for anyone over the age of 50 to enjoy lunch at the Village Hall, to catch up with friends and to get to know people new to the community. We encourage all our members to help with the lunch in some way, from cooking to putting the crockery away.
The atmosphere is friendly and lively and
meet on the 2nd of the month several time a year.
Our cooking teams aim to produce interesting meals.
We are always looking for volunteers to join in the cooking.
There is no need to be over 50 to cook or wash up once or twice a year!

We serve ice creams, tea, coffee & biscuits at very reasonable prices.
We don’t sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own.
We park cars so that everyone can get into the hall car park.
